FAQs

How will I hear the audio during live captioning?

You can hear through icap, Skype, phone with a microphone etc.

What is the delay time during live captioning?

The delay time would be 2 to 5 seconds based on the internet connectivity speed.

What is the set up required for live captioning?

As an alternative to using a separate StreamText feed, for Facebook Live, we can provide native captioning, if the requester uses either a hardware or software encoder, such as the ones from EEG (usually rented or purchased from the encoder vendor). The captions are then embedded into the video feed on YouTube or Facebook. Below, we describe how to use EEG Falcon and iCap to embed captions in your live feed. If you’d like to use other encoders, please open a ticket for more information.

StreamText is a text platform that delivers real-time/live captions and can be accessed by users either as a single web page or embedded into live streams. The StreamText live feed of captions can be embedded into a web page, along with the live stream player, using an iframe that can be configured to various sizes, colors, etc.

What video formats do you accept, and what caption formats do you provide?

We accept all video formats such as MP4, MOV, FLV, WMV and much more.  We provide almost all the captioning formats based on your requirement.

How should I upload files?

We will create a secured itranscript account and will send the login credentials through email to upload your files in our secured portal.

What is EEG encoder?

EEG has your captioning covered from delivery to encoding and display technologies. Customers in broadcast television, live events, streaming media, education, and government all know that when it comes to captioning, EEG is the go-to for cutting edge integrations and great service.
